Speedblitz

What?

The term "speedblitz" is used by debaters to describe a scenario where one character is sufficiently faster than another to defeat a character before they can do anything to turn the battle around. Speedblitzes are a perfectly viable tactic to use in debates, because quite simply if one character is too slow to stop the assault from another, they are going to lose. It is due to this that speed is such a respected ability in vs. battles.

Countering

There are ways for a slower character to defend against a faster one.

Durability: Your opponent may be faster, but hey, if they can't hurt you before you kill them, who gives a shit?
Intangibility: Speedblitz my untouchable ass.
Non-Corpereality: Read above.
Omnidirectional Attacks: Run circles around me all you like, I'm still gonna fuck you up by blasting in all directions.
Time Manipulation: You can shove your speedblitz up your frozen in time ass.
Strategy: If you have a potent enough strategy and the means to apply it before you are blitzed, you can take it

Speedblitzing can come in many forms, but the most common one you encounter in games is through movement. One famous example of a speedblitzer is Albert Wesker from Resident Evil 5, but the speedblitzer that has won the heart of the world is Sonic.
