Link
Link is the hero of the Legend of Zelda series. Reincarnated each time Hyrule, or the world, needs saving, Link's appearance varies somewhat. Each specific Link has different equipment, but similar abilities. For a list of the individual Links, see below.
Role in the series
Link's role in the series is to act as a sort of fail safe for the gods, being reincarnated any time the world that they created is in danger. Link usually appears just in time to stop, and push back a great evil. Often catching the world on the brink, and pulling it back. His most note-worthy, and powerful enemy is Ganondorf. However; Link has faced many powerful enemies, among them: Majora, Vaati, Shadow Link, Onox, Veran, and even his own dreams.
